Luke Humphrey competing at the Lilac Bloomsday Run in Spokane on Sunday

Hansons-Brooks (powered by Saturn) athlete Luke Humphrey will be competing at the 32nd running of the Lilac Bloomsday 12 km Run in Spokane, Wash. on Sunday. It will be his first road race since the U.S. 15 km Championships in March, where he ran to an eighth place finish in 45:33.

The Bloomsday Run is renowned for being the world's largest timed road race, with participation exceeding 60,000 runners. It also plays host to a world-class elite field. This year, three-time champion John Korir (Kenya) will be on hand to defend his title. Korir is one of the most accomplished road runners of this decade--winning nearly every major U.S. road race, as well as being named Male Road Runner of the Year by Running Times Magazine in 2003 and 2005. He will be challenged by 2006 Bloomsday Champion Gilbert Okari (Kenya), and 21 year-old Micah Kogo (Kenya) who was RT magazine's 2nd ranked road racer last year. The race gets underway at 12:00 pm EST on Sunday. Results will be available shortly after the conclusion of the race at the results page. Stay tuned to read how Luke fares on the Bloomsday Run's famed Doomsday Hill.
